And Comes The Rain

Sitting rigidly
watching the falling rain
such tender times
now turned to pain.

Rememberances of freedom
two spirits rushed,
now all that's left
is this heart crushed.

Promises of forever ties
I live in fear now all alone
the rain I fear will never cease
drowning in a world unknown.

And the rain keeps falling heavier each day
this despair I seem unable to shake
oh would but it was just a dream
for then with accord I could awake.

These tears still fall for what might have been
as I wonder if they will ever cease
but for now I must grieve
until my soul can live in peace.

I love the story behind this piece. It may be dark and depressing, yet it's enchanting and full of hope as well. I know how the girl feels. Rain go away, come again when I'm happy. Great job, keep up the good work!

you made me think in circles..awaring from rain drops the symbole of life and the charm of winter turn to pain,i think that such writing is much more interesting than the passion of love cause in love most of things are positive, yet here you controled the mind with beautiful ideas based on a maze that has been put by your own mind..i think that you and your writing are interesting and impressive..

Beautiful metaphor in your poem--the rain! I especially like the rhythm and music in this piece. And like the rain it brings a sadness because of the unknown, "the what might have been." Good luck in the contest!

    This is a beautiful piece.
The second stanza seems to flow amazingly.
