A Lesson Learned.

Missing image
My age to blind the youth that asks?
In the youth I left behind,
All wisdom in my mind be held,
Within my youth to find,

That those to see the age of me,
And ask?
Do I belong?
To satisfy the place they fill,
Within their youth so strong!

That I to prove myself to those?
To earn my self respect,
To run the race they wish to win,
Yet the truth they so neglect,

This race then won to show them all,
I fear not any man,
I fear not age, nor my demise,
For my heart is who I am!

That they to look upon the world,
Just to win the race in speed,
But a lesson learned when I them beat!
That the answer, not to lead,

For those of us who finish last!
Will always come in first,
And those to win to satisfy,
Their need will always thirst!

    an inspirational piece.....

It's been a while since I had the chance to gaze on your fine poetry, Keith. I'm a parent and a full-time college student. I admire the way you have such a knack for rhyme and rhythm. You give those of us who have gotten used to finishing last a head start on life. I thank you for your wisdom.

wow, deep, it starts out a little sad but makes a turn for the better as you bring it down to the end. How true you are, wise and lived. Well done. I liked the out look on this piece.
