I'm quiet,
Not fragile.
Most things thrown my way
I can handle.

Don't walk on egg shells
Or talk sweetly
Everytime you're near.
I can take and understand criticism.

I'm not stupid,
I know how to do things,
So don't go 'round telling me how to do it.

I'm innocent, but not completely,
I know what goes on,
I don't mind this or that,
If it's on I'll watch,
But I just choose not to do.

So please,
For once,
Just let me be,
Don't treat me like a child,
Because I'm not one.

    There comes that time in the life of most when the guidance and parents and friends and even lovers, must be challenged and shrugged off if found restraining or inhibiting.

    Indeed their is nothing more frustrating than to have someone treet you like your an idiot. So often they do thoe things only to make themselves look better than they really are .

    So many times when you have things going your own way.. and you have felt within your heart you make the right choices.. Some see that as a threat.. and therefore, maybe belittle you, or disregard you for knowing as much as you do.. So they can look better themselves.. making you feel lower, so they can feel like they are so smart.. But when you are young, and smart.. Alot of times you can be overlooked.. But you can learn quick.. For you can learn off of anyone.. What to do, or what not to do.. I think this is the way I was growing up.. Thanks for sharing your heart, and please, shine on.     This is very well put and I think that more people of my generation have to understand that your generation is a stronger generation that we can feel good about.

    i like the voice put into this, way to speak out, but you might work on your flow. Way to be heard though!
