Lola Jo

My precious grand-baby Lola Jo

so small. so sweet, so pure.

I hold you close within my heart

of this you can be sure.

Your spirit is so full of life

it shows in every smile

I can't see you as much as I would like,

but know I love you all the while.

You are a gift from God above,

mommy and daddy's pride and joy,

your home is filled with so much love,

that nothing can destroy.

Right now my love is all I have

to give so you will know

all the love that's in my heart,

and with everyday will grow...

I love you Lola

from grandma Debbera

    Outstanding

The picture reminds me of my two children when they were babies and brings back some memories. Why is it whenever you see a picture of a baby you want to hold it? That maternal instinct I guess! This is a fine poem with great flow that is full of love and warmth. You express your feelings very well. Thank you for sharing this with us it is great to read such an uplifting poem.

A bit late, but I was away for a few days. What a lovely granddaughter you have and such a nice poem to welcome her in your heart. Who knows, she might turn out to be a poet too, like grandma Debbera.

This is a delightful poem in honour of your gorgeous little granddaughter! What a precious parcel of joy she is...

Love is the best gift anyone can offer to a child, so you are doing everything you possibly can in the right way as a doting Grandmum! I'm sure in years to come she will cherish this piece you wrote for her.

Enjoy your day to shine in our Bandit spotlight, Sweet Pea!

    BANDITS UNITE!!!!

This is a truly touching, lovely piece. The magic of a child, especially your grandchild...is just overwhelming with love. It is true, you can feel their little spirits and see it in their all or nothing smiles. Smiles that seem to bridge all gaps in life, mostly the ones in your heart. It's a blind leap and a bound....and you are totally smitten. Your granddaughter will so treasure your poem as she grows up, because it was a poem between you and her. I am sure she will be your pride and joy and you must give us a look at all the new pictures. Great job!

    BLESSINGS & LOVE,
    Doris

That looks like the happiest baby I've ever seen, and as much as she is obviously loved, it's no wonder! What a cutie!

I was going to suggest "of" instead of "and" in L4, but I see Frodofan beat me to it.

Thanks so much for sharing such a sweet pic and poem...I suspect you'll be writing about Lola Jo often as she grows up...hopefully she'll read back and know just how much she means to her family.

Enjoy your day in the spotlight!

    ~J.

      Thanks Trista!
for your gracious comments, and yes! I did change the "and to "of" as you and "Frodofan" suggested. It works much better. I appreciate your opinion greatly, I am certainly not as refined a poet as yourself, and many others, and I need all the help I can get, lol. thanks again!

What a cute baby! I love the smile. Very nice and sweet. It was nice to read some good thoughtful rhymes.

"and this you can be sure."
^It just struck me that perhaps "of" would sound better than "and."

Again, nicely done. Hope someday she can read this.

Aww, this is such a touching poem, Debbera, and it's such a nice one to 'come back' to AP with. I'm sure that the parents would appreciate this as much as the child!! There's always a special bond shared between grandchildren and grandparents, (very much known from experience!!) so I'm sure you're excited to establish that. Touching writing, and I'm glad to see a new one from you.
