the Long Walk

She left out the door with questions on her mind.

She stood on the doorstep now just a shadow.

Her voice was just a low hum in the air.

The bright sun eased her mind.

She was leaving her past with the night.

As she let the wind blow away the traces of yesterday.

They watches out the window.

As her boots kicked up the dust.

Watching her long stride as her hips swayed.

Arms keeping rythm as she moved on that day.

Shoulders square as she head ed off into her new world.

Her skirt fluttered. in the air as her figure faded away.

On and on she walked into the sun.

Everyone was standing to watch her now.

Never once did she look back.

Not one person moved to call to her.

The wind has blown her steps away.

As the sun engulfed her from sight.

A lovely poem Mac. You have penned some beautiful imagery. Many times people walk out of our lives and then later on we wonder what ever became of them. This was a pleasure to read. You take care, Sandy

      Thanks for reading this

Strange how some people will move in out life and we never think as they leave , keep in contact. They left town and never heard if again. Kind of a good friend I never got to know...mac

There are some people who will fall under that category, I always wonder if it was them or circumstances because there have been instances when I have tried to maintain certain contacts , but failed to due to unprecedented reasons.
