The wine is in the chalice
there is malice, there is pain;
the cat smiles back at Alice,
there is dancing in the rain.
Step into the looking glass,
to see, to be, to know;
think on things that come to pass
and ever, ever grow.
Should tears from heaven never fall
then grass should all turn brown,
should sorrows never ever call
that is reason to be down.
Drink the mix of your hearts tricks
the ones that you don't know;
Digest the pricks of stones and sticks
those evils people throw,
Assimilate, and contemplate
the way in which you're made,
try to reason and relate;
find shelter in the shade.
Think, don't stink; it's drying ink,
there's time to realign;
then Cheshire smiles give you a wink,
you won't cry, no, you'll be fine.
Transfer the power of the cat
from meow mind to purr;
by taking up a different hat,
the one your thoughts can stir.
Free-fall, fancy what you will
there's time while you still breathe;
some will fly and some will kill
some heal while others seethe.
All in their own power,
they can cower, they can stand;
but all life is a flower
that obeys the root's command.
That's it for me, I'm done with tea;
the coffee's up to you;
we all will sail the stormy sea,
we all should help us through.
