With a jittery finger on the button
Low self-esteem leads to a cocked trigger
Each staff member waiting to shoot
All keeping heads down below the parapet
Discussion on the lines of the Nuremberg Trials
Each looking to be the victor and apportion blame
Revolution and counter-revolution leading to a Cold War
Sincerely held beliefs used to identify the outsider
Hope dies
Inevitably the cycle repeats
Perhaps the next meeting will be better ...

Yep, I am back in bloody meetings again (this one scheduled for 4.5 days, so fingers crossed I get Friday afternoon off!)

Good write. I liked the acrostic form. The way you write this, makes meetings sound really boring. I think if I was ever in a meeting I would act like that guy in the pic in the border of this poem. lol. good luck with getting Friday off.
