Slivered eyes, wide in a blaze
Mysterious orbs of passion
Back and forth surveying the scene
In a chilling, scary fashion
Everything is upside down
Everything is in reverse
Set axioms have changed
Dreams are a blessed curse
Gravity flows constantly
Toward the Earth, content
Water glides along, serene
The way it always went
But everything is different
Things have flipped around
It lies in one’s perception
Which is easy to confound
Feelings born at first light
Will someday fade away
Conscious of those that did
Hoping some will stay
In question is the eternal
Heart
Will it always stay true?
When feelings warp and shift
Apart
Is there anything one can do?

Author notes
If someone can enlighten your mind with a new perspective that in turn makes you a new person, what does that say about your life and your perception? I'd say it speaks volumes.

Very poignant and provocative...and exceedingly concurrent with the title of the piece. Nice.

very profound & thought provoking write...I do love a poem that makes me think. Feelings truly are such mutable, changeable things. In reading one gets the total sensation of paradigms of the norm being stretched to their outermost limit....excellent job.

ummmm....superglue? duct tape? :-)
Quite a masterful write! Leaves me wondering at the enigma that is CoriolisNectar. -
Just like I never saw you at any of our meetings right?

It was 'Frailty' the whole time. You saw nothing

I love it! Poems that are from a new perspective are VERY welcome in my book... it gets boring reading the same thing over and over again (take MY poems for example... ugh, they're awful
). Anyway, it's a great poem. Keep it up!

And I'd agree with you and say the same thing! It's a great attribute to anyone to have an open mind. This doesn't mean you have to accept everything or even condone everything, it just means that you are willing to think "outside the box" and are more receptive to other individuals and their cultural fancies. I am always glaod of those sorts of people...it's the closed-minded people I pity. Thank you for the ever-poignant writes!
Many blessings,
