The Italian blood
Flows through my veins.
It's what gets me through
The daily strains.
It makes me strong.
Nothing can keep me down.
For my Italian heritage,
I am renowned.
I will stand up proud

Though keeping me down
Is for what some people strive,

For my love for my breed

To be enriched with this blood

We must hold high our respect,

um...wow...dont know what to say...hope i didnt come off too strong. i just dont think theres many people out there that stand up for Italians. all people think of when they hear 'italian' is the mafia or a crime family. But we are more than that, much more. people just need to realize that.

This was just so very amazing. Although it had nothing to do with any of the proverbs ... I have to say your inspiration and your point was just... it left me speechless. I personally have so much pride for being Italian. But what you said in your authors notes is correct, that not many people stick up for Italians, but in all honesty that's probably because as an Italian myself, we don't necessarily need or accept help very often. Anyways... congrats my fellow Whop! This was awesome. I'll consider it for the contest because like I said even though you didn't really follow what the contest what about.... it was still just amazing. But I GUESS in a way you did... if this is what was inspired from the Italian words above... Well good luck in the contest.

thanks for the comment! us Paisans have to stick together! lol but if you look in the last line of the fourth stanza, i used the translation of one of the proverbs =) lol but seriously this was inspired by the quotes. a promise
