One Last Breath

Another dream destroyed by your name;
another piece to the devil's game;
one more soul cut down in prime
and cast aside in Father Time.

One more victim for you to kill -
another petty life with no will;
a spirit shattered against the wall -
another angel that seemed to fall.

A life lost in midnight screams -
a heart stitched upon the seams;
a wrist slit in every direction
in need for a sense of correction.

Another bottle emptied; one last pill -
praying that this heart be still.
Another song of an enchanting death -
the final straw - one last breath.

Author notes

I'm not a big rhyme fan nor do I claim to be great at it.

This was random, choppy and pieced together in under a minute yesterday.

Enjoy.

    You did great!

    Not easy to rhyme but I thought you did okay with this. A very emotional read. Sad,agonizing and straight to the point. THANKS for sharing.
