I am benumbed.
Soul searching,
I seek
and walk at night.
In the realms
of the forsaken
shadow of the moon;
I weep
in the silence of forever.
"I know,
It is not forbidden
to catch an ember"
No one noticed
my broken smile,
and my exenterated existence
is of a corpse with open,
droopy eyes.
Again, I realize.
I am benumbed.

Great piece. I love how the opening line was repeated in the end as a sign of realization.
I loved the simplicity, the imagery and the title.

Absolutely beautiful. Your use of language is really lovely, it has a rhythm that you don't see enough anymore. Thank you

Nice take on your prompt! A phantom or shadowy apparition, right? Anyways, that's where your magnificent words took me. As if someone or something was not physically present, he's hollow, not really there...
