Offroading Lovers

Beyond the signs
lays a road [adventure]
unlike any unknown
dream, where the clouds
cry, and the sun hides.

Heart beating fast (90 mph)
nothing can stop us,
through muddy visions'
windshield wipers,
opening the window to
reality.

Love is messy
caked thickly to the tires
a blast for a while
but a pain, when the
jeep hits a ditch
-rolls
flips
crashes-
...good-bye.

Author notes

First: About my option, I found it to be challenging, but enjoyable and I'm honored to have made it this far in the challenge.

Second: This poem represents a true feeling to me... recently my boyfriend and I have crashed and burned and are now broken up and fighting BADLY! So this poem is very metaphorically honest to me.

Third: Thanks to the person who made my option choice... it was a blast!

Enjoy!
xoxo

I liked this, it was a unique take on the picture prompt. You are right, at the moment I'm having some 'boyfriend' issues as well, so I know the old crash and burn story better than you know the back of your hand. Very unique though, glad you could get something of it, it's not always easy.

Great job with the metaphor here. Sometimes love does go spinning out of control leaving us to pick up the pieces. A wonderful take on your prompt. ood luck in round 2! >pixxie<

Wow, lovely take on the picture prompt! I love the metaphor here...though it certainly makes me hesitant to go offroading. Best of luck in the contest!

    WOW

dang Sweets I am so sorry to hear about this. for ya. I am sincerely sorry to hear hes being a pain in the a$$ and won't let it go and thus you are forced to argue back. hopefully you'll find someone better and he'll slither off into his corner and regret what happened by losing you. any ways this is a very well penned poem and I really found it quite interesting and the wording was very good too. keep up the good work.
