Autumn Remembrance

The whisper of the wind through the dry and browning leaves
Sends a chorus of sweet music to the very heart of me
And in the softened silence, in the endless march of time
I hear the breeze speak secrets in a sad and shadowed rhyme

The autumn air is crisp and cool and warns of coming frost
And here I sit within the wood and ponder what was lost
The golds and reds and purple hues that beckon to my heart
Things of beauty, strong and true, with wisdom to impart

The birds sing softly of a time, so many years ago
When 'neath the branches where they perch a rope swung to and fro
A blood-stained rope of darker times, soaked in hatred cold
The end of some whose innocence was twisted and untold

The earth sighs softly, rememb'ring still, her precious little ones
And in the mist there lies a chill, warning times to come
Though all rejoice in cooling days and renewing, longer nights
Yet in the air a mem'ry grows of wrongs and terrored flights

And so I pause to listen to the voices in the chill
Sheltered by an old oak tree, by pasts unbroken still
And in the softened silence, in the endless march of time
I hear the breeze speak secrets in a sad and shadowed rhyme

My sweet Sister Whisper...I watch this video and listen to your voice...as you speak such sweet and wondrous words...and time and time again, I am awe-struck. Covered with goose-bumps at the beauty of this creation. Forgive me this conclusion Love...but I do believe you are speaking not alone...but accompanied by the voices of our shadowed past...as they chant this verse along with you in reverent respect. How shall I ever thank you for the gift this write is to me? I cannot...for it is a treasure to my very soul.

    Blessed...Blessed Be!!!

    Love you so~

I read this through quickly and I thought that it was a sweet autumn poem...then I read it again and watched the video and I realized that it is very deep and slightly sad. Just the fact that I had to read it multiple times makes this poem a joy.
    Lovely!!
