Frustrations tears soul from reality
Grief shifts from mind to soul
Flooding the roads of destructive behavior
I sit within the husk of darkness
As the void swallows my sense of reason
Depression embraces its sibling despair with distressing ease
A shroud denies me enlightenment
It shields my visual reality from pedestrian views
Heavy are the shoulders that carry the weight of failure and dejection
Voices penetrate ventricles and block the flow of realism
Choking from the flow of ignorance I fail to swallow the air of arrogance
Of my own doing
My esophagus constricts again
Collapsing from the abuse,
Continued alienation
And self loathing
The window closes on cooperation
Compromise and the certainty
Of a continued
Depressive
state
Author notes
This was the feeling before during and right at the point I was able to start writing again. It took about 4 months. I was very depressed and couldn't do anything and not too many people knew.

Excellent Poem
Well at a loss for words or the reality of atrocious darkness lurking over ones soul. Its all very depressing and it will truly affect your bravura on the job, at home, or your muse. Excellent vision in some very charcoal hues.............Novy

This was a bit tough to read, but still visually shows what a writers block can truly be. It's filled with emotions that aren't usually assosiated this strongly with this theme, and that worked wonders for this piece. Good work with this one; I liked it quite a lot!

This is very good. I really like the despair I felt when reading it. My favorite line:
"Depression embraces its sibling despair with distressing ease"
good luck in my contest.
