snippets, scraps, bits & pieces

x--- an orphanage for ideas that will find a good home one day

[Sat Sep 15 8.00pm]

seeds spiralled
from fate's fingers
in paths of
dropping bombs;

swallowed thick in
sandy soil
we thought it was
suicide

but you burst
from death
like calligraphic
strokes of green

[Sun Sep 16 7.30pm]

stars are fiery lips
of a goddess
sucking darkness
away as if they
were drawing poison
from primeval wounds

[Mon Sep 17 1.18pm]

happiness
is a deathless disease
to which there's
no known cure /i
haven't been vaccinated

poppy:
he flirted with the fiery wind
and danced to sunset’s kiss

[Wed Sep 26 am]

snake...
...enveloped itself in the wood pile,
as though it were a disgusting, dangerous lie;
scales glinting in the glaring sun

[Wed Sep 26 pm]

i could not sleep.
stars hung like hackneyed carcasses slumped over the hump of wednesday. the constellations draped themselves in arrangement of summer christmas lights, but dangled limp like hippos wallowing in mud, horses melting in memory.
humidity

[Sat Sep 29 10am]

brother

i.
i like to think he would have been a bird;
wings that would flutter sighs
he would sing
in the wind

ii.
when the sun split
& death came close
there was no time for drawn-out goodbye;
wings folded over his small face
and he melted
faster than snowflakes on concrete.

somewhere there is a bird brother
sleeping in a box of wide eyed grief

iii.
your fingers weren’t enough to catch him,
father.

(critique welcome, but be nice; i feel sad today.)

                  Yup. My suspicions are true. You ARE weird. And what's with you and names? I'm the one whose supposed to have a name fetish around here, and even I don't interrogate people like you do. tsk tsk
