Her fingers are dancing down his spine
waiting for the alarm clock in her mind to go off
[maybe it's time to go home now]
the silhouettes on the wall are cascading downwards
& sending a spark through the bones in her body
her hands are s h a k i n g
& her brain is on [overdrive]
he somehow got the keys &
[now has control of the steering wheel]
the lights are all turned off upstairs
& if you slowly tip-toe down the stairs
[you might catch her in the morning]
She wishes she could fall asleep,
but, falling asleep means she has to close her eyes
& closing her eyes means she can't see him until the morning after.
[Going to sleep never felt so unneccessary
with a mind on overdrive
& words escaping her minds like fugitives]
♥
[Let's just fall asleep together tonight
with our bodies intertwined,
& we can count our freckles like constellations in the sky]

Awesome word play, I love the ending. Truely intriguing. Nicely penned.
Much luck

it's not bad at all. i much enjoyed the thought of this type of want and need and cascading dream of feeding the mind for hours of time.
i usually steer away from write like so, but i enjoyed this one quite well. -
