I love rain...something primordial
about the sound of pattering on a roof
some unforgotten remembrance of the
eternal...streaking down gutterless windows.
I love when it's raining and everyone
disappears...the sloshing of car tires
whooshing through puddles...black birds standing
ankle deep in pools of cool wetness...beads of
rain smearing bird droppings over my windshield
blurring my vision with their filmy gauze.
I love playing in the rain, sifting through
castles of dark shifting clouds...the shadings
of gray light creating somber moments without
the sun blinding my eyes or blistering my face.
I love rainy days dreaming dreams alone by the
seashore...feeling warm and cold simultaneously...
shivering in my wet socks and unlaced tennis shoes...
drinking drops of falling rain I catch in a plastic
Dixie-cup, saved for sea-shelling, and shape-shifting
grains of sand.
But...mostly, I l o v e me...w h e n it's raining,
d i s s o l v i n g into a simple state
of l i q u i d.............mind.

Well done indeed! I loved how I could see all of this. I tend to get wet and can't see anything with wet glasses, so I can't really enjoy the rain when I'm wet. I could imagine someone getting wet, actually, and smiling about it. Rain is a very fascinating topic to write about. Interesting use of the last two words. You're not supposed to give yourself away!
Great job with this piece!
