O! There she stands on her own two feet,
As if waiting for love to meet,
But it doesn't greet her till it's over,
And she sees the darkness of it all under cover.
O! Am I not to help her when she falls,
When her knee and heart be bruised by the cold,
Am I not to warm her, to cusp her hands to my chest,
But when I do, she would love me less and less.
O! She stands on her own two feet,
But she falls, but I cannot hold her,
For she is far, further than Olympus from Earth,
She's farther than the river on Earth.
