Those merry hearts once sang in gladness,
sailing upon your dazzling liquid silk,
whose ships you tossed about in madness –
O savage tempest, what power you possess!
As foamy spray raged, you slew them there,
after your sparkling, sunlit waves consoled;
and your frothy lips whispered peaceful calm,
betraying them to death, oh what lies you told!
Deep ocean of fury, beneath mirrored sky,
you buried them in sheets of layered brine;
now resting forever upon your murky floor,
all those poor souls, lost to a distant time.
Their echoes now cry within found shells
placed upon the listening ear,
revealing so many phantom voices,
to all those who wish to hear:
“O Sea, do for us as sky does rain,
whose droplets rise to live again!
Release us from our watery grave,
we beg of you, our souls please save!”
sailing upon your dazzling liquid silk,
whose ships you tossed about in madness –
O savage tempest, what power you possess!
As foamy spray raged, you slew them there,
after your sparkling, sunlit waves consoled;
and your frothy lips whispered peaceful calm,
betraying them to death, oh what lies you told!
Deep ocean of fury, beneath mirrored sky,
you buried them in sheets of layered brine;
now resting forever upon your murky floor,
all those poor souls, lost to a distant time.
Their echoes now cry within found shells
placed upon the listening ear,
revealing so many phantom voices,
to all those who wish to hear:
“O Sea, do for us as sky does rain,
whose droplets rise to live again!
Release us from our watery grave,
we beg of you, our souls please save!”

Thank you for the compliment...
I'm glad you like the poem on the savageness of the sea, she can be quite heartless at times. That's the nature of nature. I AM going to travel o'er that cold-hearted sea, and NOTHING is going to stop me this time. But I plan to fly
so she can do no harm with her watery ways...
See ya soon, Sis, keep your pen flowing, and the tea kettle hot. xxxx Slan xxxx
Love ya, Cyn

This is just beautiful. So much emotion, turmoil, yet calm, just like the sea. When I look into the water, I feel the same way....all those souls crying out from their watery graves..just lovely, Cyn!
And you call ME a goddess of poetry.....ha! lol
