Blinding Light

Cold and stark icy night.
Shadows swallow all that's living,
and all long dead.
Nothing can escape its deadly grip not even the light.

There is no light but that that's blinding,
that that's shunning.
It doesn't let you see anything but it lets you perceive everything.
It lets your mind roam to unworldy realms.
It lets your eyes see what does not exist.
It lets you feel  that which is untangible.
It lets you walk without legs.
It makes you love without question.
It lets you dream when you're awake.
And be awake with both eyes shut.
I've never seen it but I know it's there.
I can feel it when the sky turns gray.
One day I will be on the othet side.

And see what was trully there.
Touch what I use to miss.
Not walk because I won't need legs.
Love and finally know why.
And be awake in my dreams.

One day I'll be in the light.

    really clever and creatively, we felt every line and
    verse, woven dark into light!

    this is a really lovely poem. i especially love the concluding line "one day i'll be in the light" it rings so true for me and i can really relate to the feelings displayed in this piece. well done on a beautiful write. thank you for entering my contest.
