Love's Albatross

Lifeless, lost, and left to die
Where angels fall, is where to cry;
Shut off power, run the water -
Merciless sorrow plays the martyr.
When does fate play roles with fire?
When does beauty kill desire?
Helpless crows fly to their death,
Angels lie in their last breath;
What's left to feel when all is lost?
Who's yet to see the albatross?
Fury fades, emotion drains;
Smiles jade, elation feigns -
The paint will cake a wall of guilt,
Shame is spent and pity's spilt;
Speak the silence, for it will dread,
Kill the love, for it is dead.
