First Steps

Wave crashes sand falls
wind breaks smoothing out confusion.
Water collapses into itself around
rocks and little Baby toes leaving footprints
in the sand. Scribbles with sticks about love
and sand pictures. Baby fingers pushing sand into
stick-lines. Filling in moats of sand castles
creating grander dreams and lovelier heavens.
Waves roll up, Baby stands on
wobbly seaweed legs and steps onto the moat now filled.
Breathing out in the purest laugh
making baby footprints in the sand.

    sorry about your hand,
    but on the bright side-
    this poem rocks!
i love the imagery in the second line,
and the sweetness in the last 3.
