To stay true to myself day in and day out,
To hold strong to my morals without a doubt.
To trust wholly in God forever more,
Through every tragedy and demon that comes knocking on my door.
To follow through with each promise I make,
To leave a path of compassion and understanding in my wake.
While wading through the depths of despair,
Forgetting not, the hidden smile that is always there.
To see the good hidden in my peers,
To ignore the hum of their rude jeers.
To allow the sweet melodies of music soothe my soul,
Finding comfort and warmth in the steady beat of rock and roll.
To remain loyal to my closest kin,
To look fondly upon their faces and grin.
Forevermore allowing myself the delight,
Of getting lost inside fictional writings, even if only for a night.
To leave an imprint of my life’s journey in the sand,
To offer the weeping and weary my helping hand.
To provide faith for those who have lost all hope,
Washing away their ailments with the ease of soap.
To be remembered in a favorable light,
To be seen in a good will, not in spite.
To live the life, destined for me,
Doing all in my power to set my soul free.
To walk humbly beside the ones I admire,
Always chasing after the things I’ve aspired.
