I love this. I love your careful use of diction, as well as your very tentatively placed style changes.
A very intriguing write... reminded me of something I read once about a writer in a cabin by the sea in Ireland (don't know who, when, or any of that), but they were saying that the world was there waiting for them to grasp it out of the air and sea and place it on paper (or did I make this up from a dream?).
Anyway... I love this. Love the imagery!!!
