The Story of Doubting Thomas
W. Peter Sanci Sept. 13 / 2007
I’m sure we all remember the Gospel story of Doubting
Thomas.
Well if I remember correctly Thomas was the only Apostle not in the Upper Room the night that Jesus
appeared to the apostles after the crufixtion, and he
refused to believe that Jesus was alive again, and
that he refused to believe God’s promise.
Then he said, “ I will only believe if I can put my
hands in the holes in his side and in his hands.
Then, and only then will I believe that the Master
still lives.
Well about a week later, in that same upper room,
Jesus appeared to the twelve again, and this time
Thomas was with them.
When Jesus entered the room, Thomas bowed down,
and said, a “ My Lord and my God. ”
Jesus then said to Thomas, “ Thomas, you have
Believed because you have seen me in the flesh,
Blessed are those who will believe without seeing,
me at all, for theirs will be the Kingdom of Heaven.
