You forget we once touched the moon
Awoken from eternal slumber
Vacant and cold
Plagued by exploration
My surface, a violation
Marking your destination,
Surface engraved with your existence
An illuminate wonder before you
A complex creation to behold
Regal and bold
Looming above you
Yet inconsequential to the human eye
Cease for a moment
From your perpetual daze
Aimless, Apathetic
Oblivious to my neglect
Revive your curiosity
Spark your vitality
And remember
You once touched the moon
Author notes
I wrote this piece on a full moon.
