Holding the Sun ~ for Night Hope

Within the bones of memory the prayer wheel turns -
having danced through the path of air
she dances now with water

This day
marks the first day
where she will truly let go
to sink and dive into deepness –
having drowned
once in her life
this is not the time to fear the deep –
it is an eternal moment
to feel freely and embrace
anxious to reach her final destination
holding on tight

easing
through unknown landscapes
never looking back – only ahead

yearning

holding us tightly together

slowly

releasing our fierce grip
only to intensify it once again
choosing not to hide in our shells
but to slump forward
              when the time comes right

Now -
following a blue moon
devoured by the Earth -
a honey moon marks times of regret
and the fear of tomorrow
(twin thieves that rob us of today)
to hold us forever

                           in the sunlight...

Tarja ~ Thank you so much for commenting despite this not being your style of poetry And no, sadly that is not me... I'm never that tall and skinny! But it DOES remind me of Wanda the Willow!!

having danced through the path of air
    she dances now with water

This reminds me of travelling, of making love, of painting the moment in still time, of friendship, of the planets harmony, of doubt and its depth and so the eternal race never looking back and yet feeling its winter upon the place of death just central upon the left shoulder blade...

and so for all that and more, i thank thee deeply dear poet, w strawberry mousse and chardonny -jas

Love the presentation of this piece - the background color, the beautiful picture and then the colors used with the print of the words in the poem. Great flow, wonderful thoughts and sentiments expressed in these lines. For a great poetess and friend to many on there. Wish you well in the contest.

Wanda you know I would do anything for you within my power. And I am praying everyday - to any gods that may be listening - for a quick recovery from your pain and worries. Of all the people I know, you do not deserve such adversity. Always here for you girlie girl

    Beautiful.

My first impression is of the beauty of these words. Emotionally This takes me throught moments of time where maybe yust maybe all things are possible. this is not awkward to read and should not be changed. The title is perfect and the first line makes you want to keep on reading this. The last line sums this up very well My fovorite part is the second verse. I liked this.

I especially love the idea of the twin thieves. Regret and fear
have destroyed many a beautiful relationship and taken the joy out of life. Bravo!

This is beautiful... I know this one comes from the heart...a sun-poem, a poem of light that murmurs like the gentle lapping of water. The first stanza is amazing and kept my attention for quite some time before I could move on... I love the compassion and understanding in this poem, the turning of the wheel and of seasons of the heart. The last stanza brings hope and light but also a reminder to let go of fear and regret and sorrow. I could so identify with this poem and I know Wanda will be moved to tears. Beautiful...

You've honored the Lady magnificently! Wanda will weep after reading this... being the emotional romantic that she truly is...

    slowly

    releasing our fierce grip

Ya got me weeping with joy, Scribe!
