My college composition book
is just like my mind.
It’s got random
bits of useless information
without dates or times
paired with bursts of
creative genius that
has no real place in the world,
along with random doodles that
have no place anywhere,
kind of like my thoughts.
It’s a personification of
my personality,
my soul is poured out
in that 8 by 6
little book.
Please tell me what you think

love it
i have a tiny wallet-sized notebook that i keep around for just this reason. my high school notebooks look exactly like what you've described here, but now that i'm out i have to keep a random little book around just in case. for some reason i feel as if these "bursts of creative genius" and "random doodles that have no place anywhere" are important although they probably are not and there is no reason for recording them except to have something to laugh at or think about later.
lol sorry, i didn't mean to ramble. i just really identified with this.
great write!

Great analogous imagery here. Very introspective, short but packed with depth. Interesting flow. I thought you were going for a rhyming scheme atB first but as I got towards the end, I realized any rhymes were incidental.
Thanks for sharing.

Haha, great! I can relate; I'm always scribbling little stanzas or lyrics or doodles in my notebooks. Keeps your sanity it tact though. Great write.

I am constantly slaughtering my exercise/note books with irrelevant doodles and lyrics and images that have no place anywhere but I never thought of writing about it like you have done so well - great poem!

Who knew that someone could write a piece about a notebook and make it so good? Very well done. I enjoyed this much. You have no idea how many times I have found notebooks and looked at those things that have no place anywhere...

I really loved this poem. I've had many a different notebooks that are just like this. Random bits of me strewn out across the pages.
"my soul is poured out
in that 8 by 6
little book."
That bit was my favorite I think, you did a wonderful job with this. Simple and yet so complex. -
Nostalgic and good one.
You have penned marvelously your personality through your college composition book. I liked your entire poem. good job.
