The Violin

Upon this page are music notes
A time ago somebody wrote
I’m here alone about to play
The sweet, serene sound heard each day
My head thinks out a rhythmic beat
About to play a piece so sweet

My bow brought lightly to the string
It’s soft, but clear, and gently sings
Its voice of heaven speaks to me
The tune of grace in “Cannon D”
My eyes keep up as fingers glide
Across the board without a guide

From high to low, from sharp to flat
From playing this to playing that
She sings, she cries, belongs to me
With classic dreams she sets me free
Can’t stop me now, I’m on my own
I’m free of life, my heart has flown

Author notes

I wrote this for an English assignment, and I absolutely think it's incredible. It's brilliant, and hopefully you agree.

YAY!! Cannon in D. And yay!! Another person who writes poems about the instrument they play. I wrote something once about the viola...my instrument.

The rhyming on this was great, and I definitely loved the subject. (Though violas are WAAAAAY better...just saying is all).
