Leaving Home

The crows sat on the wire, overhead,
and listening,

as the breeze swept through the old trees in the yard.

They could hear all types of things down below,
Every mumble, every sentence, every word.

For a fellowship was losing a member,
A star was falling from the sky,
A wild bird was flying south,
And leaving his loved ones behind.

His wings have grown and it's time to move on,
It's time to fly off into his own life,
He's all grown up, he's branching out,
Oh, he'll be back, but not for awhile.

And this little family will never lose this boy,
No, the bonds we share are beyond everything and thicker than blood,
And as strange and weird as it may seem,
This boy all lives in us. (Huzzah!)

So we bid him farewell, we bid him good luck
on everything he'll face,
We're always an IM or phone call away,
And we'll never let him fall

Cause these friendships run deeper than anything.
