Fishing Camp

Missing image
Quiet sunset in the jack pines
leaves  parch upon the lips of a
tired fisherman.

Sunfish and
a small mouth bass.

Supper would be sparse.

Lake water boiled
the pot for coffee,
rim torn of rye-baked bread.

Fish, lightly fried.
Camp skillet sautés
fresh fairy rings.

Jack pines silhouette
a pink and blue sky.

Mirrored images ripple.

A loon calls.

This is great my friend, you have, in a few short verses captured, sound, smells, vision and emotion with a feeling of freshness of the outdoors.

    Love,
    Amera♥

Thank you so much. I am pleased for your comment here. I have seen a sky like this and fished in a lake as clear as glass. Ahhh. This photo sent me spinning into memory. Thank you again. ~Pamela

Pamela, I love fish frys and country settings. Such a serene little piece and how adorable when you threw in some whimsy: 'camp skillet sautes fresh fairy rings!' ha My best, Belle

This is beautiful, serene and sounds like the perfect getaway right about now - this reminds me so much of Tranquil Lake, way up in the bush here, I got caught in a bad storm, fishing, in the middle of the lake, in a row boat LOL...storms come FAST in the mountains...but it was nice after, eating fish, fried over a campfire, and I LOVE the sound of loons, my favorite sound in the world.

I think I need to go camping now..didn't get to go this year. I don't know why I am telling you all this...lol.
Anyways...this poem is an experience...I love it, it takes me there, captures all the senses
