children of the mind
having lost the path
to sleep
wander weary woods
of insomnia
straying after
rustling bright fragments
of thought
blooming on the darkened
forest floor
in sporadic puddles
of dissipating light

Love the mood and feel you create through your imagery. Nice use of alliteration as well. That ending paradox of blooming on the darkened forest floor speaks volumes. This has a haunting quality as well.

Thank you so much, Everwind Rising, for your thoughtful comment and clappies. So pleased you enjoyed the alliteration and ending. Some sleepless nights also have a haunting quality!
