Take Heed

A jester is not always remembered by the lines he used,

Used he is instead, to become another’s joke.

Joke all you want for years and years to come,

Come the day the jester blows.

Blows he does like the roaring wind.

Wind of a mighty stormy night,

Night will be when the Jester shows,

Shows everyone not to mess with him.

Him who had been the butt of all the jokes,

Jokes you want? A joke you’ll become.

This was really good, Donna. I think the flow, the wording, the meaning and just everything about this poem was really good. I love how you wrote this and the small rhymes in this were also amazingly written, as well.

Keep up the great work, Donna. I look forward to many more poems of yours.

love the menance in this, or should i say the womenance in this, the jester, always the butt of others howls of glee, comes howling back gleefully, using the very thing he was used for to make laughing stock and then soup out of all of his tormentors. gre

This really good, I don't know that I would have had the patience for the particular rule set involved in that contest. The way you worded some things made me think of Yoda, but not the prequel Yoda, where Lucas threw out proper English, the original Yoda, where everything he said was still correct. The only thing I can see straight up wrong, is the first line should be "A jester is" not "A jester are", Great write, with good meaning!

This was another favorite of mine, I enjoyed the meaning, there are many times, where the attention we get is not exactly the attention we were looking for, and it festers, until we explode. Great write, however your first word 'A' and your last word 'become' are not the same. Thank you for entering the contest!
