Quaking

My heart breaks just a little,
and yet I do not cry.
I wipe away some spittle
From the corner of my eye.
I scratch my head and rub my hands,
I twitch from side to side,
I dream to hide from life's demands;
My shot goes too far wide.
I am a little heartbroken,
And yet, I've lived through worse...

I know,
I'll say I've just misspoken.
But first, I must rehearse.

    awww too late. i read it. :-( sad. its ok, not your best, but very emo and that can be good. it explains grief/sadness in very simple terms, which is hard to do and calms the reader. :-)
