A tear in the fabric of reality,
Provides a glimpse of what could be.
The beauty of ideas meant to create, and soothe.
The misery of regret for things left broken, unfinished, unsaid.
Perfect love, and devotion give way to unease and suspicion.
And through it all, I endure. Because I must.
Pain and suffering creep through the shadows to taint
All the uplifting and encouraging words mine ears had witnessed.
Love, and compassion for some
Some who were thought to share my views, and dreams.
The same ones who…In the end, had failed to save me.
But through it all, I endure. Because I must.
Hope renewed with prospects of change, and salvation
Dashed carelessly to the hungry masses who would consume me.
Overwhelmed with emotion, always fluid and fleeting,
Each very real in the moment it's been given.
Ever searching, though never truly finding. Acceptance. Truth. Validation.
Yet through it all, I endure. Because I must.
Casually petitioning the heavens for a sign.
A glimpse of guidance, a narrow shred of intuition.
Granted in a moment of desperation. Confirmation of my mortality.
A gentle reminder of my purpose, and strengths
Leading up to a revelation. A stubborn puzzle, solved in an instant.
Through it all, just endure. Because you must.
