without that silver lining
her clouds just foreshadow storms
her butterflies are black-winged
her smiles hide the screams
rainbows are outlined in black
she once was so fond of these things
her doves are now black crows
flowers turned to weeds
the pen now becomes the sword
nothing was ever as it seemed.
her prince charming was
a dream. the real man is anything but.
his sour ways and trickery are all he knows
his shining white smile
replaced with an evil grin
all her photographs with the smiles and laughs
are now showing blood soaked sneers
and she'd thought her life was planned
throught the rest of her timeless years.
the candy turns to razorblades
sticky now with blood
hoping; for one last attempt
she looks to the sky above.
her cotton candy clouds are gone
the sky is now pitch black
lightning strikes in several places
as though it might attack
seeing that her world is gone
she runs from all imperfect things
but finds she can't get away...
so as her bloody tears form rivers
she takes her place upon the throne
with all the broken, imperfectness,
this place is now her home...
