I love you even though you signed those adoption papers in the spring
So I wrote how I feel on a heart shaped card and sent it to you
I told you how sad I was that you weren't with me when I had the flu
I wrote down all the troubles I've faced through these years
To get you up to date I also wrote down my fears
But I know what you did or what you didn't do
You ignored the gift of my heart that I gave to you
I spent my life believing we are the same
Dang! looking back on it it seems lame
You rejected my heart but yet I'm fine
Don't worry I will not whine
But next time I give you a smile on the street
You will know I have not yet met my defeat

This is a very touching piece that you have written here, and I'm sorry to hear your mommy left you like this
But I definately like the message you have captured within your words, spreading love around - that's what will save this earth eventually (I hope
)
Well written - thank you for entering the contest

You did a very good job conveying your feelings in this piece. It's often hard to write personal things and you did it well here. Good job and best wishes.

thx for your comments enchantress the truth is is that I dont know the reason my bio mom put me up for adoption or why she chose to put me in this family mof all familys i have been looking for a connection but each connection is a dead end and im sorry about your mom

I'm inclined to get lots of feedback on this but I won't do that. Instead I'll just say I think it's good you still love your real mom. That's a sign of true optimism. Thanks for sharing this. Honestly expressed; well done.

this is really good
my mom was adopted when she was just a baby. her realy mother left her at the babysitters and never came back. her adoptive mother and her do not get along. i know other people that are in the same situation. it is tough to go through. i like how you don't criticize your biological mother for putting you up for adoption. it takes alot to do that but i guess it depends on why she did it.
the poem itself is good. the rhyming, the structure. everything. i honeslty wouldn't change one thing. Good luck in the contest. you deserve to win

This is written in a very nice fashion. I have known a few people who were adopted, and I think this captures their feelings as well.

Awww Sweety I will tell you that im sure your real mommy loves you.She is called your birthmother, She gave you the most precious gift which is your life and im sure the mommy that you live with loves you so much also. Even though your mommy that gave birth to you loved you and carried you in her tummy your adoptive mommy carried you in her heart.
