Mist Of Temptation

Water clapping-
Angels singing-
Cloudy depths of a sailor's soul.

Shattered and broken spirits-
Drops of sweat dripping on their brow-
And Angels are singing.

Their voices like the wind-
Caressing lips and tempting fate.

Men reaching out into the darkness of temptation,
Blinded by the mist and lust,
But still they can hear Angels singing.

Riding closer to their prize of beauty-
Their saviors waiting for them on the rocky shore.

Hearts are beating and men are screaming-
The sounds get closer as they get to the rigid edge.

The Angels reach out from a distance-
The darkness sweeping over their face,
But still they are the prize.

All goes silent and the men look around the mist where they thought Heaven lay-
But all they hear is the water clapping.

They hear the Angel's finale-
The sound echoing through the night-
And before they reach the rigid edge
They drop down to their knees.

Water clapping...
Sirens singing...
And they hold what's left of a sailor's soul-
