Enemies are figments of imagination
To use any time, at our discrimination;
If we feel angry, sad or miserably alone
We image a face and cast it into stone.
Once I believed the world was full of enemies
They circled and zoomed, always taunted and teased;
First there was time, and then I blamed money
Funny how often I blamed you too, honey.
The truth of the matter I saw what I pleased
If you'd say "gazuntite" if I happenend to sneeze;
I'd fabricate some fantasy, someone to betray me
I've discovered a secret, I'm my only enemy.

This is such a great poem and so full of depth. The flow was great and I loved the rhyming. You pulled it off so well. Great work and best of luck for the contest.

I know the feeling, fighting an unknown enemy and then realizing that that enemy is you. I've just recently found that one out...
Anyway, nice job on this and good luck in the contest!
