childhood

Painting rainbows
After the cold sprinkles
Of sheets of rain

As the skies
Glitter in robes of light
And shiny wishes

You grab my hand
And we run,

our footsteps echoing
as our giggles dance
far into the night,

not missing a single beat

I miss the times we cared
And inhaled innocence;

Childhood’s distant cries
And melodic resonances

Of saddned symphonies
& lonely late-night sobs-

Because you grew up too fast
And I couldn’t catch up with you…

this whole piece is so so so incredible!
I'm sorry if I'm beginning to sound redundant, but really... I just ADORE this.
"I miss the times we cared
And inhaled innocence;" what a lovely image! Well done... again.

this was such a beautiful write!

I felt like I was a younger person once again and it gave such a nice feeling. Made me feel like I was travelling through a land where wrong's wrong and right's right. Everything seems so wonderful

then at the last parts I felt sad.oh! I hope this never happens to us.

This is such a very sad and endearing write! Something that I can certainly relate to as far as friendship goes. Often people grow out of us, not to say that the friend we always knew isn't still a part of us; but people change. It is those true friends that always seem to weave themselves back in, if only from time to time. This is so beautiful my dear! Deeply touching write!
