It's a castle of forgotten times
Spray painted testimonies
Make love to wild vines
Mind your step here in this palace
You might fall through the Corrosion of
Memories. I can hear the echo
Of dancing metal as we stand so far above
I'll follow you up iron bars
If you promise you won't go far
It's hot here but I don't care
That shattered glass looks like my heart
So you show me the separate rooms
That have names. This gem of a run-down
Beautiful place is a wild flower in a
Pit of doom. Decay loves life now.
The sun is our chandelier
While we rest atop the aged roof
And I desperately search for something to say
But silence is alright here with you.
Suspended in time, this palace of destruction
Suspended in time, I never want to leave
You get up so suddenly with one finger in the air
How you laugh at us and destroy the meaning
It's alright, wandering through
Rusted corridors reading graffiti
In this Midwestern boredom day
Let's go home and take back no meaning.
It's all in my heart,
Resting in my head,
This is a sad tribute
For a concept.
Author notes
Well, one day my friend and I went to this factory thing and it was so beautiful. It was run-down and like everything was falling apart but in random places there was new growth, green things springing up. I thought it was wonderful. The whole building was amazing and the words fail to come out that could possibly express the uniqueness of this place and just how beautiful it was. It was like a concept building. And this is just a little re-telling.

Absolutely stunning! You are one after my own heart with admiring something such as an old run-down building. Also I'm from the midwest so it especially appealed to me.

Your usage of words was fabulous... you made me wish that I was there seeing it all just as you did. Applause as well for your title
