I always knew apart of me was missing
When you were never standing by my side
To brush away my emotions with your smile
And wipe away the tears that I cried
I feel a blank space in my heart
Whenever your not around
To grasp on and cling to my feelings beneath
And bury them into the ground
This emptiness is killing me
Knowing your not here anymore
Because only you can make me whole again
With feelings over-poured
The place where I feel safe and snug
Protected in my heart
Is just a faded memory now
Because we seemed to drift apart
The distance between us has really died
And now your only a tainted shade
Of black and white chalky coal
Perhaps just a mere fade
Finally learning to let go of you
Is what I've needed to do for awhile
I know it's going to be a long journey
But I can live without your smile
Don't feel sorry for me now
When you should take the blame
Its your fault anyway
Why make me ashamed?
I have to say whats on my mind
So I hope you understand
Im not going through anymore pain
I have to move on and be who I am
You never know what will happen to us
We may find a place in this world someday
But at least for now
I've got to go my own way
And as I step foot out of your life
I remember the good and the bad
Now I finally realize it
You were what I never had

Wonderful poem Jax. Well expressed, but you might want to rephrase this "Of black and white chalky coal" You might want to consider shortening it to maybe just grey. It just seems to forced, or cluttered that line. Other than that, a beautiful write! Keep up the good stuff. Kudos & froglegs

Oh so sad, I know that hollow, empty feeling you get when the one you want doesn't want you too. Although your punctuation was a little off this poem was beautifully written and talks about something true and powerful. Thank you for entering, keep this up!

This is really good:
You never know what will happen to us
We may find a place in this world someday
But at least for now
I've got to go my own way
