Nomadic Lovers ♥

And I was ever so perfect in the sunset of your eyes. And as we drew together near park swings, under starry twilight, we became eternal. Lost in tomorrows and sweet promises, we thought, would never fade. I'm sorry I became a failure to you. I sketched your name ever so artisticly on my heart and on my sketchbook and between the pages, our love grew.

We watched children running around, little girls with pig tails and we promised each other with the look in our eyes, One day. And one day became never. A stab to the heart, a future lost, possibilities ended and you became the scars on my arm. Just another one that would heal with time. Never thought it possible. Remember you? Running down that hill, we were free and childish and we didn't care if we got hurt. The gazebo was our savior and one day we walked through the park when the rain was misting. We made that day eternal. We had nowhere to go and so we wandered, like nomadic lovers. We were always together, inseparable. I found myself blending into you until I was hardly me anymore. I didn't care.

We were artistic and happy, perfect by nature. We were the perfect couple by everyones standard yet we didn't even have to try. I made you everything and I remember days of holding hands and walking home afterschool. I remember the cherry blossom petals down my street as I waited with you many a night for you to get on the van. I always felt so empty, so strangely sad when you were gone. And then you'd call me an hour later when you got home and we were perfect again. It went that way for what felt like forever, yet it was only a year and some months, just before I moved.


I shattered myself the day I left you. Held me responsible. Now I don't feel the same, never will again. But baby, we always have sunsets and endless looks of love. We always have the park and Jersey. It's forever tainted now, hard to believe any of it was ever real. Yet you were my perfect star, my sweet relief, my happy ending but now, all you are is a grimm ever after.
