Last rose petal falls upon the ground,
there in silence it lay.
Withers away mid winter's harsh sound,
my love he could not stay.
Northwinds have blown my love far away,
beyond horizons blue.
Clouds hovering above are now gray,
the sunshine left with you.
Fire still crackles, embers still burn,
feelings still stir inside.
Why is forgetting so hard to learn,
feelings so hard to hide.
My mind fills with thoughts of you each night,
wait for the phone to ring.
I want to hear everything is all right,
oh love what thoughts you bring.
Just one more time, I want you so much,
tell me where, tell me when.
Miss the long sighs from your gentle touch,

My first impression another great poem as always. Emotionally you touch the heart with your written words. It is as always a great delight to read everything you write. This is not awkward in the least and needs absolutely no changes. The title is perfect for thie and the first line starts this beautifully. The last line says it all. I loved everything about this therefore everything is my favorite.
