Fateful First

Swirls of yellow and blue

In a midnight hour

Hands interlaced as

We stroll in the darkness

Moon illuminating

Our faces when twinkling

eyes meet, waiting for

That fateful, exciting first

And when our lips meet

It is beautiful

Freeverse: I come out and say what I mean in love poems, not because I do not have the tools for my poems to be one big metaphor, but I choose to voice my feelings.

That kiss has sure been captured ... you described it so well in your piece ... short, sweet, and to the point ... very well written ... I love when ppl write their feelings down in poetry ... because I feel that is exactly what poetry is ... feelings ... very well done and good luck in the contest ...

I like the simplicity and the fact that though you were crystal clear with the scene, you didn't give a rushed blunt feeling.
