Hello, my name is Detective Fields. This story is based on the shooting of Naomi Nagano. This happened was at my favorite restaurant the Rendezvous’ and this is what happened.
“Wow! The first day on the job!” exclaimed Naomi. “Get into your uniform Naomi.” said the manager. The manager was a small simple man. He never spoke much, and he was single. Naomi practically pounced to the uniform closet and got dressed as quick as possible. She was the first to arrive. Then about ten minutes later a group of customers came in and sat at a table. Naomi ran to them and asked their order. “Hello!” she said with a cheery smile. “How may I help you?” The customers ordered, but one man looked awkwardly around the room. Naomi asked “Would you like anything sir?” The man said nothing, then he said bye to his friends and left.
After awhile Naomi got used to the daily routine at the Rendezvous’ and all the customers loved her. Until one day the same man who looked awkwardly around the room came back. This time he inspected everything well. He ordered a coffee paid a generous tip and left.
Then one day Naomi arrived early and came inside with her key copy. She heard a crash and suddenly a mysterious man came barging through the window. Naomi caught a small glimpse of the man. “Who are y…” she yelled. Then there was a boom, and Naomi fell to the ground. She had been shot in the stomach, but was still alive. The man took the cash register and fled quickly.
The police arrived soon and took Naomi to the hospital. She was in a coma. The police investigated and they found a lighter near the window that was broken through with the initials “B.K” on it. They analyzed the lighter for prints, but all the results came back clean, so I interrogated the people who were near the restaurant at the time.
The first woman was cooperative. “So, did you see or hear anything unusual at the time?” I asked. “Yes, I saw a man run into the alley then I heard a crash, and then a boom.” she nervously replied. “Did you see the man? What were some of his characteristics?” I asked. “He was short, fast and had a weird looking wrinkle on his arm.” she replied calmly.
The second woman was not cooperative at all. “So, did you see or hear anything unusual at the time?” I asked. “No, your wasting my precious time. May I leave?” she replied angrily. “Madam, there is a killer on the loose and you care about your time?” I asked. “Yes, and now I am leaving.” she said as she left.
First suspect to come to mind was the mysterious man who looked around the restaurant. His name was Bunpei Kitori. I went to his house and asked “Did you do it?”. “No.” he replied. “I heard you were suspiciously looking around the restaurant.”. “I was only looking around the restaurant because I wanted to see how the layout of a restaurant would be, I want to start my own.” he replied softly. I showed him the lighter. “Is this yours?” I asked. “Yes, But I lent it to the man who owned the restaurant and he never gave it back.”
Then I checked with Naomi’s best friend, Kiko Cy “So Kiko, did you shoot her?”. She replied “No I would never! She was the only one in the world I could talk to!” I said “Well… I heard that you were in a fight recently.”. She replied “Yes that’s true, but I was coming over the day she got killed to apologize, but then I found out she was dead.” .
Then I questioned Naomi’s Ex-boyfriend “Did you shoot Naomi?”. He replied in a serious voice “No I loved her for seven and a half years, but then she broke my heart.”. I replied “I’m sorry but that doesn’t convince me that you didn’t shoot her.”. He replied in an annoyed voice. “I am sorry detective, but if you heard what I said in the beginning I said I loved her.”. “Loved?” I asked. “I’m saying loved because she dumped me the worst way ever, the day after my birthday.” he replied solemnly. “I am sorry, you have all the rights to be mad.” I replied with grief.
After that I went to the Manager. “Did you shoot Naomi?” I asked. “No, she was my favorite employee, why would I do that?”. “Possibly because she was so good at work that you were afraid you would lose your job?”. He looked very nervous and replied “ Yeah, but why would I steal money from my own restaurant?”. “So you could use that against me in questioning.” I replied triumphantly. Finally, he blurted out “ I did it! She was so good I had to shoot her!”.
Later in the year the manager was put in jail for 10 years. Naomi woke up from the coma in a few months. She is now recovering productively.
