Towering cities cross a vault
of achromatic hue;
a luminescent light pervades
this stormy summer view.
Trees stand out in sharp relief
against the threatening sky,
colours glow, so sharp, intense,
as pewter clouds pass by.
Multi layered build the clouds,
in many shades of grey;
some are lit by sunlight,
some make night of day.
Over in the distance
a mountain range now forms,
climbing upward, ever growing,
start of thunderstorms.
Yonder is a charcoal cloud,
with ragged wind tossed edges;
shafts of rain come sheeting down
to hide the distant hedges.
Pictures form, then dissipate,
as wind whips clouds around;
towers climb, then melt away,
as rain falls to the ground.

What a remarkable write! The imagery is so enticing and vivid, it really paints a masterful landscape, a gorgeous turbulent atmosphere, the soul of the storm. I am amazed at the skillful wording. These clouds become so tangible and lively, as actual physical beings. This poem enlivens their very existence, gives them such fuming purpose and standing, the way they are referred to as mountain ranges and towers gives them this powerful and foreboding essence. Just remarkable, and then that amazing finish, that last stanza, the storm breaking and the rain falling down, that peaceful, tranquil end…a phenomenal finish. This piece is just amazing, so well done!!!
