Big Day Out

Standing on the hill
He is looking down to the mass of people
A blur of bands, people and lights

Each breath takes in the atmosphere
The music...
The smell of smoke...
The night sky electric with anticipation
For the band rocking under bright lights

He follows the girl
She needs to dance
He needs to be in the middle
Where everyone is..
Sweating...
Singing...
Jumping along to the song

The headliners take the stage
A screaming roar
Rips through the arena
This is what we have been waiting for
Every face he looks at is peaking
From the anticipation of this moment

The sheer enthusiasm brings goose bumps
A shiver of thrill tingles through his soul
His stomach is churning
He has the biggest smile on his face

Its finished now
All bundled up on the train
Eleven hours of amazing bands
Worth waiting a whole year
For another Big Day Out

Author notes

***Life without music is a big mistake***
This write is about a festival we have in Australia called the Big Day Out. It is eleven hours of rock bands and is always such an incredible day. I love all types of music but nothing (to me) beats the feeling of being at a concert all day and night, and the memory always brings back a smile :)
