ah, so serene, and so sensuous.... i like how you've used the feminine image of the cherry blossoms and the link between the silkworm and the kimono and the sheen of her hair... ah! such a vivid japanese portrait!!

Beautiful - so pretty and delicate...like the cherry blossoms you mention. I love when a poem's content is mirrored in the sentiment.

    Lovely..

oh dennis, thank you so much for your kindness of giving credit for this humble background ... I actually love to use it myself for the haiku I occasionally write ...
your haiku is imbibed with the flair of eastern serenity, and you paid a wonderful tribute to this beautiful culture through your poetic offering ...

wishing you the very best of luck in this contest,

Wow Dennis, this really is a gorgeous image of a haiku and is everything--THREE times the everything I could possibly expect of Far-Eastern influence in one haiku.

Exceptionally well-done and I truly enjoyed this haiku. Thank you so very much for this entry to the contest!

    Jo
