Diving headfirst into flawless sapphires
and unknown and uncharted waters,
I swim through, happily descending
into technicolor memories.
Kicking my feet faster,
a tide of sadness and misery
begins to tug on my perception
of all that I am and ever will be.
I shrug them off, beating them
back with tendrils of happiness
that snake out from my heart
recently placed there by the One whom I love.
It's in a venerable, devastated city I swim,
a pseudo-Atlantis without any inhabitants.
There is a pinprick of golden light
that guides me to my final destination.
A pair of throbbing, wrought-iron gates
are all that stand in front of me.
Prying them open, I make my way into a
cavernous chamber in which a pale heart lies in debris.
Picking up my tools, I commence the long,
and arduous task preset in my destiny
of repairing this decrepit, beaten-down organ
only to find it is already rebuilding itself.

My head breaks through the water
to find the face of a Goddess staring back at me.
We embrace tightly and swim for shore,
a newly created beach with sand made of my soul.
The only evidence of our stay being our footprints,
we make our way towards the horizon,
our hands symbolizing the bond.
"You are the one who makes me smile," She says.
